Space weather benchmarks on Japanese society

Abstract We surveyed the relationship between scale of space weather events and their occurrence rate in Japan, we discussed social impact these phenomena during Project for Solar–Terrestrial Environment Prediction (PSTEP) 2015–2019. The information was compiled domestic users forecasts appropriate preparedness against disasters. This paper gives a comprehensive summary survey, focusing on fields electricity, satellite operations, communication broadcasting, positioning usage, aviation, human activity, daily life Earth’s surface, using cutting-edge knowledge weather. Quantitative estimations economic electricity supply aviation are also given. Some topics requiring future research, which were identified survey described. Graphic
